Our glass-fused-to-steel tank projects
Eight projects integrating water storage, civil works and hydraulic connections, from water supply systems to desalination infrastructure.
FEATURED PROJECT · LA URUCA, COSTA RICA
La Uruca glass-fused-to-steel tank
With a capacity of 10,000 cubic metres, this is Costa Rica’s largest glass-fused-to-steel tank.
Client: AyA
Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers
Large-scale water storage
Located in La Uruca, San José, this Fernández Vaglio project for AyA provides a storage capacity of 10,000 m³, equivalent to 10 million litres. Its scale makes it a landmark project in our water infrastructure portfolio.
The tank combines glass-fused-to-steel panels with a geodesic roof structure. The photographs show the scale of the project and different stages of construction: the circular foundation, roof and panel assembly, the interior, and an exterior night view.

Tank features
- Glass-fused-to-steel walls and floor
